Stranger Things: The Duffer brothers, co-creators and co-showrunners of the popular Netflix series "Stranger Things," have announced that production on the show's fifth and final season has been halted due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.
In a statement posted on the Stranger Writers Twitter account, the Duffers explained that while they were excited to start filming with their cast and crew, the strike made it impossible to proceed with production. They expressed their hope for a quick resolution to the strike so that they could resume work.
Representatives for Netflix have not yet commented on the matter. "Stranger Things" is among several Netflix series, including "Big Mouth" and "Cobra Kai," that have been affected by the writers' strike.
